In an email to staff on Tuesday, which was shared with Semafor by a source connected to the organization, Schwab expressed his intention to transition from executive chairman to non-executive chairman. He stated that the pending change in his role is awaiting approval from the Swiss government, with finalization anticipated ahead of the WEF’s annual meeting in 2025. While Schwab has not disclosed his successor, he acknowledged the executive board’s assumption of full executive responsibility over the past year under President Børge Brende’s leadership. Brende, a former Norwegian conservative leader, has been pivotal in overseeing the organization’s operations. At 86 years old, Schwab has been synonymous with the organization he has guided for over half a century. Originally known as the European Management Forum, the event initially drew significantly fewer attendees to Davos compared to the thousands it attracts today. WEF’s Digital ID Travel Project ‘Never Launched’: Transport Minister (Epoch Times, 6/24/2024) After Transport Canada said last year it was “committed” to closing a digital identity pilot project for air travel, Transport Minister Pablo Rodriguez is now saying it never got off the ground. The department “officially ended its participation in the Known Traveller Digital Identity, or KTDI, project in April 2023,” Mr. Rodriguez said June 19 in the House of Commons. “The KTDI Project never launched.” KTDI is one of several initiatives from the World Economic Forum (WEF) that Canada has participated in. The WEF gathers word leaders from politics and industry to implement its agenda. Antifa defends attack against Jewish attendees at anarchist bookfair in North Carolina (PM, American News, July 6, 2024) Antifa organizers behind a bookfair at the West Asheville Public Library in North Carolina that turned violent have released a statement defending reported assaults that took place against Jewish attendees, including an elderly man with cancer. The altercation occurred on June 29 at the Another Carolina Anarchist Bookfair (ACAB) when Monica Buckley began livestreaming the event. She attended the event with two others, David Moritz, 54, and Bob Campbell, 79, who were victims of the alleged assaults when they occurred. Andy Ngo said “Antifa and far-left extremists jumped Jewish people, including an elderly man, who live-streamed their Another Carolina Anarchist Bookfair (ACAB) event held at the West Asheville Public Library in North Carolina on June 29. The masked militants didn't want the pro-terrorism session streamed and beat the people in the room who were supporting Israel. The event was organized by the Firestorm Books coop, an Antifa bookstore and meeting space in Asheville involved in extremism.” Ngo also said “Antifa has released a statement standing by their assaults on the people at the "ACAB Bookfair" at the West Asheville Public Library. They call the victims "fascists" who deserve violence. One of the victims is an elderly man with cancer.” The Freedom Party of Canada will deem Antifa a terrorist organization and will ban all facial coverings in any kind of protest. BC Woman Who Married ISIS Fighter Charged With Terrorism (Epoch Times, 7/6/2024) A British Columbia woman who left Canada to marry an ISIS fighter in Syria has been charged with terrorism-related offenses. B.C. RCMP say that Kimberly Polman, 51, has been charged with one count of leaving Canada to participate in activity of a terrorist group, and one count of participating in activity of a terrorist group. The charges stem from a criminal investigation into Ms. Polman, who lives in Squamish, according to a July 6 RCMP news release. She was accused of leaving Canada and travelling to Syria in 2015 to join ISIS. Ms. Polman was repatriated to Canada in October 2022 and was placed on several bail conditions. There has been a terrorism peace bond placed on her since Nov. 7, 2023, police said. The Freedom Party of Canada will strip Canadian Citizenship from any individual who joins or participates in a known terrorist organization. They will also be deported and prevented from entering Canada ever again.
